Samantha Hahn and Heather Culp Collaboration.

This collaboration between the illustrator Samantha Hahn and photographer Heather Culp has got me particularly inspired today. With her simple delicate drops of watercolour paint, Hahn was able to completely change the concept of Culp's beautifully 'moody' photographs. I really can't get enough of these two types of media together. Here's to hoping this isn't all that we shall see from these two wonderful artists.

Bagged a Bargain.

A couple of days ago I included the most beautiful pastel pink D&G bag on my 'Feeling Hungry?' post. It is truly my dream bag, but at over £1000, it is definitely out of my budget range. Like all my other lusted after designer bags, I pinned it to my pin board to be kept waiting within the depths of the Internet until I was ready to face it again.

Resigned to my poor student budget, I continued my futile attempt at Internet surfing. But boy did I get a shock when I came across a feature on Primark's new summer collection on the InStyle website. There was my perfect bag! And when I say perfect, I mean a whole £12 worth of perfect.

Unfortunately this collection hasn't been released yet. But believe me, I have the day marked down in my calender...

Embellishment and Prints.

Why not go all out and top off your prints with a bit of embellishment? You have no excuse not to with this exuberant clutch from Matthew Williamson. Oh heck, just throw in some clashing colours too!

Feeling Hungry?

Feast your eyes on D&G's 1950's inspired SS12 collection with a twist.

Who would have thought that wearing vegetable print could be so elegant? I think it's the mix of the rich hues of fiery red and deep plum with the sheer fabrics that make this seasons collection work for me.  Oh, and not forgetting those cute crop tops paired with the ever so feminine pencil skirts. It's all very 'summer in the Riviera'. I can quite happily imagine myself in the 'aubergine dress' dining at a wonderful resturant in the south of France right now. Fairy god-mother, take note!

This hair-bow is perfect for that classy high pony tail!

Cobra Society.

Saw these Najet wool and leather loafers on Net-a-porter the other day. I'm hooked. I want these and a very nice holiday abroad please.

They would have to be worn with a big white kaftan top, frayed denim shorts and and tanned legs obviously. However, that last bit I really struggle with. I'm one of those unfortunate people that go from white, to red, and then back to white again. If I'm very lucky I get some freckles on my nose, which if you squint really hard, kind of look like a tan from far off.

Peplum.

Making a come back from the 1940s/'50s, peplums featured in  many of this seasons runway collections from Stella Mccartney to Givenchy and McQueen. And it's no wonder why. The peplum could not be a more flattering shape. With its nipped-in waist and flared out frill, that skims the hips in just the right place, this small addition of fabric can transform any woman into a sexual goddess, rivaling that of Marylin Monroe (we can dream), in seconds.
The highstreet has taken a 'tougher' approach to the trend (as seen in H&M and Warehouse with their leather peplum tops), however, I could not resist the charms of this sweet peplum pencil skirt from Hakaan.

Ulyana Sergeenko.

One of my favourite collections this spring is from the wonderfully fabulous Ulyana Sergeenko. Not only is this Russian beauty an amazing designer, she also manages to take a wicked photo or two as well, AND manages to squeeze in time to work on her blog! Some people just have it all! I literally pinned pretty much every photo I could find from her S/S'12 collection, including a few backstage photos by the very talented Tim Kolesnikov (my Pinterest page). I think I shall be referring back to them for graduation ball inspiration this summer.
Her collection manages to encapsulate all that I want in my summer wardrobe this year; figure-flattering feminine silhouettes and sheer and floral fabrics with a nod to the 1930's. I think you'd be extremely hard-pressed not to fall in love with these beautiful pieces.
